It’s very simple to host and play a murder mystery party. First, you will need to choose a minimum of 8 guests (they can be family, friends, colleagues, etc.) to play the mandatory roles and up to 4 extra guests to play the optional roles who are not murder suspects. You may have a total of 12 guests that can play in addition to the host role (you!). As a host, you may also play a character along with being a host if you so desire. If you do this, make sure that you prepare well so that you are not rushed and can attend to your guests properly. In order to play both roles, you will need to have your host guide as well as your character booklet so that you can play accordingly.

Typically, the game can take anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Beware, once you start the fun, time flies.
